Hamilton Parish left Bernard Park yesterday on cloud nine after chalking up a famous win over fading North Village in a match of few chances.

A Chris Caisey goal right after the interval was all the visitors needed to bag a fifth league win of the season, which went some way towards avenging a 2004-05 FA Cup final loss to the Rams.

Caisey beat Rams' 'keeper Jason Williams to a loose ball in the box and was left with the easiest of tasks of slotting into an empty net.

Rams had an opportunity to grab an equaliser on a set-piece in the closing minutes. But a well-positioned Pierre Smith shot wide to enable Hot Peppers to cling to their lead to the sweet end. Parish's inspiring win catapulted them past Southampton Rangers in the Premier Division standings into fifth place, one-point behind Rams.

Hot Peppers will close out the campaign next weekend against Rangers at Wellington Oval, while Rams travel to the Devonshire Rec. to take on league leaders Devonshire Cougars in a contest that could decide the championship.
