Rangers out for revenge over PHC
Southampton Rangers coach Gerri Saltus believes the formbook will be thrown out the window tonight when his team takes on with defending champions PHC in the Friendship semi-final at Devonshire Rec.
The teams met in the Friendship final last season in which PHC prevailed to a 1-0 win and Saltus is looking for revenge.
"Both teams are familiar with each other," said Saltus.
"I feel that it will come down to who wants it more. The loss in the final last year taught us a lot. We are definitely coming to play. Last year we had a great run in this competition and we are looking to go one better.
"I feel in our last two matches we have been unlucky not to get something out of the games, but this will be a derby match so form goes out the window."
Rangers beat PHC 1-0 recently thanks to a goal from former North Village midfielder Keith Jennings on his debut.
But they slipped to a 3-2 defeat against Devonshire Cougars at the weekend, while Zebras saw their Premier Division title hopes suffer a hit when they were held to a 1-1 draw with Devonshire Colts.
The winner of tonight's match will face either North Village or Somerset Trojans, who play in the other Friendship semi-final next month.
Also tonight, East End rivals St.George's will face St.David's in the semi-final of the First Division Shield competition.
The Shield match kicks off at 7 p.m., while the Friendship game begins at 9 p.m.
n Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane is to decide whether to loan out some of his fringe players including Bermuda international Reggie Lambe.
Manager Roy Keane said he had received loan interest in members of his squad since the transfer window ended last week. Football League clubs are able to take players on emergency loans from next week.
Keane said: "We have had one or two offers after the deadline in terms of for next week, which is something I am weighing up at the moment."
Earlier this season, Lambe was linked with a loan move to Lincoln City in League Two.
