penalties)
Southampton Rangers knocked PHC out of the Friendship Trophy semi-final last night in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Rangers' Thomas Brown scored the all-important penalty at Devonshire Rec. after Stevie Astwood had missed for Zebras.
Super-sub Kyle Lightbourne had leapt off the bench to keep PHC's cup hopes alive, equalising in the last minute to send the tie into extra-time.
Rangers had taken the lead in the first half through a volley from former North Village player Keith Jennings.
PHC coach Lightbourne's last-gasp leveller saw him collect a deep cross from Omar Shakir before firing home with a strike from 20 yards out.
Both teams were reduced to ten men before half-time when Rangers' Morricko Iris and Zebras' Fabian Frankson were sent off.
The pair were involved in a heated confrontation following tackle involving both players.
St.David's 1 St.George's 2
St.George's came from a goal behind to beat East End rivals St.David's in the First Division Shield semi-final last night at Devonshire Rec.
OJ Minors gave St.David's an early lead before Macai Dickinson levelled for Colts.
Midfielder Detroy Smith then scored the winner for Colts just before half-time to put them through to the Shield final.
Coach Richard Todd said he was pleased with his team's response following their surprise defeat against X'Roads at the weekend.
"It was an important win in the fact that I wanted them to come out and show some guts after our loss on the weekend," he said.
"We showed some heart and we believe that is what it is going to take us down the stretch.
"Nothing is decided yet in the league and coming off a loss it was important that we got a win.
"Hats off to the team, they came up against tough opposition and got the result.
"Promotion is always the main target but when you find youself in the semi-final, you go for it."
