Storm striker Angelo Simmons fired a warning shot to the rest of the Island Soccer League as he scored six goals for the defending champions in an emphatic show of power and precision.

Storm wasted little time in showing why they are the odds on favourites to lift this year's title as they romped to a 13-1 blitz of Apex on Saturday morning.

Shawn Brown got the ball rolling in the opening seven minutes to give the Storm a 1-0 lead.

Corey Dowling then doubled the Storm lead before Clay Darrell's got his first of the season, giving the Storm a 3-0 lead.

Simmons then started to show his true worth after chipping the Apex goalkeeper from just inside his half, before Darrell scored his second and the Storm's fifth.

Otis Minors got his name on the scoresheet soon after before Simmons doubled his tally, making the score 7-0.

Simmons netted his third goal midway through the third quarter before adding his fourth to make the score line 9-0, putting his side on cruise control.
