Somerset bowled over!
St. George's triumphed in the 17th Annual Bowlers' Cup Match narrowly beating Somerset at Warwick Lanes last week.
Carl Reid, although on the losing team, was named the MVP of the match as he accumulated a total of 625 'runs' that included a full 'century' in the third and final innings.
The East Enders now lead the series 9-8.
The match consisted of three innings and players had the opportunity to hit 'fours', 'sixes' and even get 'centuries'.
They could also suffer a 'duck', be caught out, clean bowled or adjudged LBW.
The end result was based on the teams' averages – the total number of team 'runs' divided by the number of players.
The final tally showed St. George's with an average of 474.352 and Somerset with 471.977
Reid hit a number of 'fours' and 'sixes' but lacked the support of his team-mates, three of whom had ducks.
T.J. Doyle had the best performance for St. George's as he scored a 'century' and was credited with 546 'runs'.
