Bill Jenks continued his sparkling form in the Amateur Match Play Championship crushing Damian Palaynandi eight and six at Mid Ocean Club yesterday.

The American fired another bogey free round and gave his Bermudian opponent little chance to get into the game.

It was Jenks' second impressive win in two days, and showed just how determined he is to win the tournament. After a poor qualifying round, Jenks has dispatched defending champion Eric Plisko and Palaynandi by comfortable margins.

Not content with that however, he went straight back out onto the practice range after yesterday's match to hone his skills ahead of today's semi-final clash with Jarryd Dillas.

Dillas also put in a strong performance yesterday, seeing off Mid Ocean member Arthur Jones three and two, while Nick Mansell and Camiko Smith will contest the other semi-final after they beat Jonathan Ingham and Nick Jones respectively.

Meanwhile Eric Plisko got back to winning ways in the Championship consolation flight with an eight and six hammering of Rod Forrest.

Plisko will now face Richard Schreiner in today's consolation semi-final, with Brent Wolgast and Jose Gerardo squaring off in the other match.

In the Ladies Championship Ann Symonds pulled off the shock of the day beating one of the favourites for the title, Kathy Lloyd-Hines, three and two.

Symonds will now face Tracy Nash in today's semi-finals, after Nash beat Shirley Leach two and one.

Top qualifier Katrin Burnie continued her good week with a six and four hammering of Linda Down, and she will face Susan Vallis, who beat Nikki Boyce, two-up.

While Symonds was turning form on its head in the Ladies Championship, two other female golfers were doing the same in the consolation flight.

Shelly Palmer and Julie Delhunty-Moore, both relatively new to the game, pulled off impressive wins over their more experienced opponents.

Palmer beat Valerie Nearon two and one to set up a semi-final against Delhunty-Moore who beat Susan Madeiros three and two yesterday.

Maria Harris and Sandy Hutchings will square off in the other semi-final.
