St. George's upset by cup final venue

Bermuda Football Association yesterday quashed rumours that next week's Dudley Eve Cup finals would be played at the National Sports Centre, confirming that the games would be played at Somerset.

And it's a decision which has angered club officials at St. George's who are due to play Somerset in the First Division final.

The East End club are annoyed that their players will have to travel the whole length of the Island for a 7.00 kick-off, many on motorcycles and requiring some to take time off from work.

"It doesn't make any sense," said one official who didn't want to be named.

St. George's say they would have preferred a more central location.

In the Premier Cup final, Boulevard meet Dandy Town in a match starting at 9.00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the BFA announced yesterday that tomorrow's First Division games between Somerset Trojans and X'Roads Warriors, and St. Georges Colts against Somerset Eagles, have been postponed.

The games will be played at a later date yet to be decided.
