Swimmers set for busy winter
Bermuda's Jason Mastalir and Dylan Runkel have been keeping busy this fall at their school, Bishop's College School (BCS), as they look to make an impression in Canadian waters.
Mastalir attended a training camp in Phoenix, Arizona, for the Quebec Provincial Swim team, while Runkel spent the past weekend on an adventure training camping in the foothills of Mount Sutton, Quebec.
Jason qualified for the opportunity to attend the selective swim training camp by finishing in the top two at nationals in both the backstroke and freestyle events last year.
The camp, which comprised of 32 swimmers and six coaches, was a lead-up to next summer's Canada Games.
In order to be eligible to compete at the Canada Games, Mastalir will have to finish in one of the top two spots at a qualifying meet in May 2009.
Back at BCS, Jason and Dylan are working hard to make sure their studies keep pace with their extra-curricular activities.
Bishop's College School is a Canadian independent boarding school, providing a world-class education to students from around the world in Grades 7 to 12.
