Tankard save decides semi-final shootout
(Somerset win 4-3 on penalties) Somerset reached the final of the Under-21 Youth Cup yesterday in a tense penalty shootout.
The teams were tied at 3-3 after 90 minutes and again after the initial five penalties, with Aaron Williams, Jevon Daniels and Leslie Trew scoring for the Trojans and John Payne, Zeno Warner and Robert Wilson for Boulevard.
In sudden death, Jelani Scott netted for the Trojans, but Lashun Dill had his kick decisively saved by the Trojans 'keeper Trenton Tankard.
The Trojans had to come from behind during regulation time after Takeyki Walker netted twice for Boulevard late in the first half. In the second half Tafari Mallory pulled one back for the Trojans before Aaron Williams tied it up at 2-2.
Desta Samuels scored with a far post diving header to a Zeno Warner cross as Boulevard regained the lead, but Somerset produced another equaliser in the dying minutes when Scott broke free inside the box to score with a low hard shot into the corner.
Boulevard's Devaughn Whitfield was sent off.
Devonshire Colts or PHC will meet Trojans in Sunday's final at St. David's.
