The Crime Stoppers 5K Walk and Road Race will take place this Sunday, with the event starting and finishing at the new Argus Building on Wesley Street in Hamilton.

Sponsored by The Argus Group and organised by Swan's Running Club, the Crime Stoppers Walk and Road Race will see juniors from the eight years old right up to seniors take part in the yearly event.

Juniors can also enter to complete a shorter 2.5 kilometre road course.

Walkers and junior runners are given a head start at 8.30 a.m., with adult runners setting out at 9a.m.

All participants are eligible to win prizes including dinner for two at Bacci and an overnight stay at The Fairmont Southampton or an iPod Shuffle.

The first 400 finishers will receive a free tee-shirt.

There are also trophies and prizes for the top three male and female finishers in each of the following categories: Walkers, Youth (8-11 years), Youth (12-15 years), Youth (16-18 years), Open, Master and Senior.

This year, there is also a $1,000 prize for the Physical Education teacher with the largest number of entries from their school.

Gerald Simons, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Argus Group, stated: "Crime Stoppers Bermuda is an important community resource that provides the public with the ability to anonymously report criminal activity without fear of retribution.

"The Argus Group is a proud supporter of their annual walk and race, which helps to raise awareness of the local charity and allows families and friends to come together on a Sunday morning and get active."

Entry forms are available from the new Argus Building on Wesley Street, International Sports Shop, Sportseller and Sports 'R' Us.

Participants can also register online at www.bermudatiming.bm until 5p.m. on Friday.

The deadline for paper entries is 4.30p.m. on Thursday.

No late entries will be accepted and race numbers can be picked up at the new Argus Building on Saturday between 12 and 3pm.

Entry fees are $25 for adults, $20 for Swan's Members and $5 for juniors
