Thrilling final win for Fine Leg Byes
Fine Leg Byes edged league champions Police by four runs to win a thrilling Evening League Premier Division knockout final at Shelly Bay.
FLB posted 140 for eight in their 20 overs and then restricted Police to 136 for seven to deny them the coveted double.
Commercial League champions Spring Garden Cavaliers pair Barry Richards and Craig Smith masterminded the FLB victory.
Big-hitting Richards topscored with 65 while Smith earned the man of the match award for his 52 and three wickets.
Gerald Erasmus also took three wickets for Police.
In the Second Division final, 13-year-old Delray Rawlins, who won the man of the match award, engineered PHC's crushing nine-wicket victory over league champions Top Shottas, claiming an impressive five for 17 from five overs — the maximum permitted under Evening League rules. Kevin Lambe took two for 15.
PHC restricted Top Shottas to 92 for eight and then raced to 98 for one in 17.4 overs, Arthur Richards hitting 41 not out, Millard Rawlins 34 not out and Kevin Dill 21.
Top Shottas have earned promotion to the Premier Division next season, while PricewaterhouseCoopers have been relegated to the Second Division.
"The Premier Division final was a great one and could have gone either way. It was an excellent day all round," said organiser Stephen West.
