Tournament raising funds to send bowlers overseas
Bermuda Bowling Federation (BBF) are set to hold their sixth annual Corporate Tournament on May 15 at Warwick Lanes when it's hoped funds can be raised to send island teams to a number of overseas competitions.
As in previous years, invitations for the event have been extended to groups Islandwide who can enter one or more teams.
Prizes will be awarded for the first three teams and awards will be up for grabs for individual high game and individual high series.
Bermuda are hoping to be represented at the Pan American Games, the Pan American Junior championships, the Lee Evans Tournament of the Americas and the FIQ/World Tenpin Bowling Associations Women's World Championships.
Another under consideration is the Pan American Adult Championships being held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in September.
Corporate Tournament director Michael Smith has urged groups to register as soon as possible.
"In light of the information we have sent out, we look forward to everyone's participation in this tournament and should you accept our invitation, your organisations' contribution will not only assist us in preparing and sending our athletes to international competitions but will also help in the building of our national bowling programmes at both senior and junior levels," said Smith.
More information can be obtained by e-mailing the Federation at macs@logic.bm.
Price per team is $250 along with a $100 lane sponsorship, with a minimum of five bowlers.
No more than one league player will be allowed in each team.
