Unity is key for Eagles, says Dill
Somerset Eagles stand-in goalkeeper Marcel Dill has backed his side to win their fascinating third round FA Cup fixture against Hamilton Parish this weekend at White Hill Field.
The two sides are very familiar with each other, having played in the First Division last year, splitting the series at one apiece.
Yet the difference and main focal point in this match will be whether Parish's new faces can step up to the challenge of progressing through to the next round, or will Eagles high flying offence continue to rain goals.
Dill, who now employs himself between the sticks in place of the injured Gabriel Wilkinson, is confident his side can progress to the next round as long as the side plays with unity, something that they have been doing in recent weeks.
"It should be a very interesting game," said Dill.
"We are familiar with each other from playing in the First Division together last year so we have an idea of how they play.
"Last year they beat us 2-1 in the first game and we beat them 3-0 the second time around in the league.
"But this year both teams have picked up a few key players, so the teams will look a lot different from those that where fielded last year.
"We need to just play together as a complete unit and not give away anything at the back and we should be ok.
"Our attackers have been creating some good chances and as long as we can put some of them away we should be in pretty good standings.
"Last weekend we made hard work of the game against Paget and put ourselves under some pressure by conceding a cheap goal early in the game and another late in the first half.
"Those goals came from miscommunication at the back but we fought back to get the win and are confident we can get things right this weekend.
"We play every game to win and feel that we have the ability to compete with the best in all of the competitions that we are involved in.
"So we would like to make a good run in the FA cup and the First Division Shield as well."
