Donna Watson was appointed the new president of the Bermuda Track and Field Association (BTFA) when the association held their Annual General Meeting earlier this week.

Watson, a former track star, replaces the long serving Clarence Smith at the helm of the BTFA and quickly acknowledged the balance in the board selected to support her.

"Mr. Smith's had served his time and had indicated that he probably would not run," said Watson.

"We had our regular AGM and we had to elect a new President and four Board member positions.

"Right now I am very excited especially with the Board Members who were selected and will be supporting me.

"We have a very balanced team with five males and three females and they all are coming from several of the affiliates."
