West goes low in Tour tournament

Eric West shot a three-under par 67 to claim victory at Tucker's Point in the fifth 'major' of this year's Jack Daniels Tour.

The former Port Royal professional finished three shots ahead of his replacement, Dwayne Pearman, and never looked like losing on a day when he hit 15 fairways and greens in regulation.

Making the turn at two-under, following birdies at three and seven, West then rattled off further birdies at 11, 15, 17 and 18, but was undone by a bogey at 13 and a double-bogey at 16 which stopped him from posting a truly low score.

Pearman finished second with an even-par 70, while Scott Roy, who at one stage was just a shot behind West, had a miserable back nine and finished in a tie for fifth with a four-over 74.

Brian Morris and Daniel Augustus finished tied for third, three shots behind West.
