All-rounder Wilson dies

Sammy Wilson, once regarded as one of the Island's top all-round sportsmen, has died at the age of 79.
Awarded an MBE for his community services, Wilson (pictured above) was heavily involved in tennis, table tennis and boxing. He was a founder of Pembroke Youth Centre (PYC), where he was honoured at a ceremony five years' ago.
In his late 60s, he remained a regular entrant in local tennis tournaments, playing both singles and doubles.
At PYC he helped recruit and train young boxers and when the Bermuda table tennis league was active he was regarded as one of the leading players.
Married to Lynn (Baxter) Wilson, he was the father of seven children – five sons and two daughters.
