Bornrman claims open crown
German Gesa Bornrmann left the field in her wake as she won the PWC Bermuda Open yesterday.
The 13-year-old led from start to finish with three days of consistent top five finishes and took home a trio of titles, the PWC Open Championship, the Gold Fleet title, and the award for Top Female.
Compatriot Mauriel-Natalie Schroder was second, while Sam Stan successfully defended his Bermuda National title with his third place finish.
Stan won four of the 15 races and progressively stepped up his game to challenge the Germans over the course of the regatta. The top five places were rounded out by Marvin Firsch, current German National Champion in fourth and top Bermuda female Ellie Wollmann fifth.
On the Green Fleet course in Hamilton Harbour for the younger and less experienced racers, Matilda Nicholls won by a narrow margin over Joe Arrowsmith and Lily Barboza.
