Charity Cup is washed out

The Charity Cup was postponed as heavy storms swept the Island yesterday, and wind and rain brought chaos to several sports schedules.

Bermuda Football Association took the decision to re-arrange the game after the Wellington Oval in St George's became waterlogged, meaning Devonshire Cougars and Boulevard Blazers will have to try again next weekend. The women's Charity Cup between Lady Cougars and Lady Rams was also put back a week.

However moving the game to next Sunday will have a knock-on effect with the rest of the schedule as the Dudley Eve had been due to start that weekend.

The BFA are due to make an announcement this week as to when those games between Cougars and Hamilton Parish, and North Village Rams v PHC, will now take place.

Elsewhere the Island's cricketers also suffered with the Commercial League Knock-out final between North Village and Ernst & Young being washed out at Shelly Bay and it will now be played next Sunday.
