Bermuda's Under-19 national squad picked up their second major scalp when they crushed Cleveland County by 126 runs in a Premier Division limited overs contest at St. John' s Field on Saturday.

Guiding the youngsters to victory was Joshua Gilbert and Kevon Fubler who shared eight wickets between them and opening bat Regino Smith who fell eight runs shy of a deserved century.

Smith stroked a polished 92 off 127 balls and along with middle order bat Pierre Smith (42) added 87 runs for the fourth wicket as the Under-19s feasted on a tame Cleveland attack.

Jordan DeSilva and Latiff Trott chipped in with 30 apiece lower down the order to keep the scorers busy before the overs ran out.

Pick of the Cleveland bowling was skipper Tamauri Tucker who bagged three for 46.

In reply, Cleveland fell well short of the target with middle order bats Gregory Talbot and Carlton Smith scoring 27 apiece to lead the resistance.

Off spinner Gilbert sliced through the order on the way to superb figures of five for 23. And he was solidly backed up by Fubler who claimed three for 25.

DeSilva was also economical, seizing one for 17 off nine overs including four maidens.

"Overall, I thought this was one of our better performances. Everyone chipped in," said Under-19 assistant coach Andre Manders.

The Under-19s, who will compete in World Cup qualifiers in Canada next month, defeated Somerset earlier this month.
