Down to the wire!
For the second time in three years the Premier Division title will be decided on the final day of the league as fans and neutrals alike will be listening acutely to updates in the games involving Dandy Town and North Village on Sunday.
Two years ago PHC won the league on the last day with a late Kyle Lightbourne equaliser against Devonshire Cougars, while last year it was Cougars who won the league with a game to spare when they snatched a point against PHC late on in that encounter.
This time around the combatants are Town and Village, with the pair being separated by a single point.
The two rivals have been jockeying for position at the summit of the league and it seems fitting that the league be decided this way.
Town travel to Southampton Oval to take on PHC while Village take on Somerset Eagles at White Hill Field.
It wasn't more than three weeks ago that Village put the title triumph in their hands after their come-from-behind 3-1 win over Hornets.
However, the title battle took an unexpected turn last weekend when Village had to scramble to grab an injury-time goal against Southampton Rangers to keep their options open on how they can win the league.
Town didn't slip up, comfortably winning 4-1 win over city rivals Devonshire Colts to go one point clear, a series of results that Village skipper Sammy DeGraff admitted took their destiny out of their hands after last week's match.
"This is a big result against us today and us not putting away our chances is why we aren't in the driver's seat now," said DeGraff.
"We must show urgency in front of goal and even if we win it won't matter unless Town drop points so we shot ourselves in the foot – now we must hope on help from Zebras."
And they may yet get help from Zebras who are used to having title implications riding on their games – whether it be them being in the title race or deciding where it will go like they did last year.
The scenarios for either side are vast, with five potential situations set to decide the champions.
The simplest scenarios are if both sides get the same result Town will hoist the league title; both win, both draw, both lose.
Should Town win, they will be crowned champions regardless.
What makes things a bit foggy is if the St. John's Road club fails to win.
Should Town draw and Village win, Village win by one point.
If Town lose and Village draw, the title goes to the Bernard Park side on goal difference.
Jared Peniston, captain of the league leaders, said he will remain upbeat regardless of how the weekend plays out, noting that not too long ago his men were languishing at the foot of the table and more worried about getting away from relegation than a title run.
"We have had a great season regardless of the outcome of the games," said Peniston. "When you look at how our season has gone, we went from the middle of the pack early on to a slide down to the bottom.
"But we didn't let the results dictate our season and we bounced back to where we are now – back on top.
"That is a testament to the character the team as a whole possesses."
Elsewhere, Cougars travel to Wellington Oval to tackle Hamilton Parish while Somerset Trojans host Southampton Rangers at Somerset Cricket Club.
The remaining game of the final weekend sees Boulevard take on Devonshire Colts at BAA Field.
