Duo on course for final clash

Chris Rego and James Finnigan remain on a collision course to meet in the singles final of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Under-13 championships in Netherland Antilles

Both young players cruised through to the semi-finals on Thursday.

Rego took apart Oneal Mortimer from Bahamas 6-1, 6-0, while Finnigan also won easily 6-0, 6-3 over Gianluc Robinson of Trinidad and Tobago.

Eva Frazzoni managed to beat Cherise Slocombe of Barbados 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 to exact revenge for Bermuda, with the Barbadian beating Bermuda's other female, Taylor McHarg, earlier in the week.

McHarg, despite the defeat, has made the consolation final after she dismantled Valentine Pierre-Louis of Dominica.

In the doubles semi-finals, there were mixed emotions with the boys claiming victory, while the girls reached the end of their road.

Rego and Finnigan earned a spot in the final with a convincing win over the Bahamas pair of Malik Jones and Mortimer 6-2, 6-1.

Frazonni and McHarg lost out to their room-mates from Barbados, Kiana Marshall and Slocombe 6-2, 6-3.
