Swan's Running Club's annual Five Mile Flat Road Race is scheduled for this Sunday evening, starting at 5 p.m. for walkers and 5.30 p.m. for runners.

The event starts at West Pembroke Primary School on North Shore Road and continues east, finishing at Shelly Bay Field.

Swan's spokesman Roddy Bassett noted the race was the only event on the race calendar which takes place in the evening, allowing runners to compete in cooler conditions.

Prizes for the event will be awarded to first overall male and female, Master, senior Master and junior along with the first three walkers.

Registration forms can be picked up at International Sports Shop and Sportseller, and must be completed by 4.30 p.m. on Friday.
