Fast bowlers George O'Brien Jr and Traddie Simpson shared eight wickets between them to power resurgent Police to a 59-run win over struggling St.George's in a low-scoring match at Wellington Oval yesterday that barely lasted five hours.

O'Brien, who was supposedly ruled out of Saturday's Eastern Counties clash through injury, led the way with five for 30 off ten overs ¿ five of which were maidens.

And he received solid support from Jamaican-born left-arm quick Simpson who snared three for 14 off ten overs with two maidens to help dismantle hosts St.George's in 29 overs.

Tailender Machai Hodsoll topped the East Enders' batting with 13 while no other St.George's batsman managed double figures. There were 19 extras.

Earlier, the visitors also found themselves in all sorts of trouble after being sent in to bat with only number seven bat Anderson Cumberbatch and early order bats Delroy Taylor and Vincent Bradshaw managing good starts.

Cumberbatch, who has shone with both bat and ball this season, led the way with 36 achieved off 31 balls in 23 minutes while Taylor chipped in with 19 off 26 balls and Bradshaw 15 off 29 deliveries.

Skipper Oronde Bascome was the pick of the St.George's bowlers. Bascome took three for 21 while uncle, Gregg Foggo, had three for 51 and national team seamer Kyle Hodsoll two for 20 as Police were dismissed in 29.2 overs.

Police's sixth win of the season now keeps them tied at the top of the Premier Division standings with Southampton Rangers, who have a game in hand over the men in uniform, with 12 points.
