Franklin just misses out in Carib Champs
Bermuda's swimmers failed to pick up any medals on the fourth day of the Caribbean Championships in Cuba with Emma Franklin coming closest in the girls' 13 and 14 50 metres backstroke.
Franklin placed fourth in a time of 32.94 seconds.
Eleanor Gardner and Morgan Hopkins also swam well to finish sixth in their respective events.
Gardner competed in the girls' 18 and over 200 metres freestyle, clocking 2:21.11, while Hopkins finished in 5:49.75 in the 15 to 17 400m individual medley.
Roy-Allan Burch swam the 100m butterfly in 1:04.04 to finish seventh.
Yesterday a number of swimmers were scheduled to compete as follows:
100m backstroke – Emma Franklin, 13 & 14 girls.
200m backstroke – Rebecca Sharpe and Kiera Aitken; 18 & over girls.
200m breaststroke – Morgan Hopkins, 15 to 17 girls; Lisa Blackburn, 18 & over girls; Julian Fletcher, 18 & over boys.
100m freestyle – Emma Franklin, 13 & 14 girls; Rebecca Heyliger, 15 to 17 girls; Eleanor Gardner and Kiera Aitken, 18 & over girls; Nick Thomson and Roy-Allan Burch, 18 & over boys.
The team will return on Monday.
