Dandy Town captain Tokia Russell was left frustrated yesterday after his side let three points slip through their fingers at Bernard Park against North Village.

Hornets had the bulk of the possession and the best chances to score, yet it looked like they were trying to hit everything else but the back of the net.

"It is very frustrating sitting at the back and watching our strikers have the luck they have had in front of goal," said Russell.

"The difference is that they can make a million mistakes up front but it only takes one mistake down the back and you will pay for it, which is what happened today."

It didn't take long for the drama to unfold with referee George O'Brien pointing to the spot after only eight minutes after Ralph Bean Jr. was deemed to be fouled by Russell inside the area.

However, much to the dismay of the home fans Sammy DeGraff put his effort over the crossbar.

It was then player/coach Shaun Goater's turn to test goalkeeper Treadwell Gibbons, who produced a fine save to deny the former Manchester City ace.Poacher Raymond Beach had the first real chance for the visitors but his effort from six yards was sent wide. That wasn't to be his best effort as his next attempt was rammed home from close range after nifty work from Nahki Wells found Kevin Hurdle who slid a ball across the face of goal for the simple tap in.

Town bossed the second half as they continued to apply pressure and look for a much-needed second goal that would give them some breathing room.

The turning point in the match was the injury of Hurdle, who had the tedious task of sitting in front of Goater so he wouldn't have a major impact on the match. And a major impact it was as Goater rose alone in the area to nod home a DeGraff corner midway through the second half to level matters.

It was Hurdle's replacement, Lashun Dill, who tried to conjure up something for his side as they went looking for the winner.

Damon Ming had a chance before Wells fired wide from 18 yards and Beach also saw a close range effort go wide.

With time running out and O'Brien about to blow his whistle it was Swan who made a darting run into the box, but a well timed sliding tackle from Kofi Dill confirmed that both sides were going to share the spoils.

"When Kevin went off injured, the change we made was done without proper instruction and our coach apologised about it," added Russell. "He was doing a great job as the man to stand in front of Shaun and don't allow him to play, so when he went off no one picked up Shaun on the corner and he levelled the scores."

"We are gun shy right now, the minute something goes wrong everyone is timid, all it takes is a win to get back on track and we will be ok."
