Hundreds to turn out for schools relay
Hundreds of runners are expected at the National Sports Centre this evening for the third annual Schools Relay Classic – the brainchild of Pacers Track Club coach Cal Simons.
"We expect between 200 and 300 runners for the relays," said Simons yesterday.
Bermuda will see the best primary, middle and high school athletes showcase their skills in the 4x100 metres and 4x400 metres relays.
Looking to retain their titles will be West Pembroke, Whitney Institute and Berkeley Institute and there will also be a relay between the Essential Services where the Police, Corrections, Fire Department as well as the BTC and BUT teams will battle it out in the 4x100 metres.
This evening will kick off at 5.30 p.m. when the 4x100 heats for the primary girls will take place and then the night will end with the 4x100 high school boys relay.
Over 20 relays will be raced with the award presentations being staged at the end of the event.
