Bermuda sailor Owen Siese has dropped off the pace at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.

Siese finished 12th and eighth in yesterday's two races to drop from fourth to seventh in the overall standings, on a day when the leaderboard changed completely.

With competitors allowed to drop their worst race after the completion of Race Five, which was the first race yesterday, the top three spots have shifted entirely.

Finland's Kaarle Tapper has taken over the lead after sitting in fifth, Germany's Florian Haufe is up to second from 12th and Singapore's Darren Choy (the current world champion) is now third, having been eighth.

Rounding out the top five is Just Van Aanholt who fell to fourth after leading the regatta and US Virgin Islands' Ian Barrows who jumped up to fifth from 14th.

However, Siese is still very much in the race with only 11 points separating the top eight and four more scheduled race days still to come.

Racing continues today with another day off scheduled tomorrow.

n Bermuda sprinter Jeneko Place has been selected for the Americas Relay team for the Youth Olympics. Place, who reached the final of the 200 metres with the fifth fastest qualifying time, will compete against teams from Africa and Europe in tomorrow's event.
