The Argus Open tennis tournament, now in its 10th year, will start at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium next Thursday.

The tournament is hosted and sanctioned by the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association, and has been sponsored by the Argus Group since its inception in 1999.

The Argus Open is a leading fixture on the tennis calendar in Bermuda, attracting the Island's top players to defend or improve their ranking.

Players from across the island compete in the following categories: Men's & Ladies' Open Singles, Mixed Doubles, Men's Doubles and Ladies' Doubles, and Senior Men's & Ladies' Singles and Doubles.

This year the singles events will have a consolation draw for first match losers and so all singles players will be guaranteed two matches.

Matches are played from –5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekday evenings and from 9 a.m. to –7 p.m. at the weekend. There will be a prize-giving ceremony immediately after the tournament finishes on the afternoon of Saturday July 11.

Entry forms are available from The Argus Building, 14 Wesley Street, Hamilton or the Argus website at www.argus.bm. They can also be found at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium and tennis clubs island-wide.

Entry forms will be accepted at W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium up to 5 p.m. tomorrow.
