Sims crashes out of Fort Smith Classic
Michael Sims' miserable recent form continued yesterday when he crashed out of the Fort Smith Classic.
A three-over par 73 in his second round at the Nationwide Tour event saw him slip to one-over for his two rounds and miss the cut by one shot.
An inconsistent front nine, where he had three-bogeys and one birdie, put the Bermudian golfer in trouble, and despite reaching the turn at level par, another bogey at the par-four 13th eventually killed off his hopes of staying into the weekend.
Yesterday's round was in stark contrast to his first when he shot a two-under par 68 and looked well placed to challenge for a top 20 finish.
After a fine start to the season, when a series of high-placed finishes saw him climb to 39 in the tour moneylist, Sims has missed the cut in three of the last four events.
