St. George's snatch win in East v West nailbiter

St. George's 181/9 (19.3 ov)
St. George's secured their place in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 League, snatching victory from their western rivals Somerset yesterday in the second close game at the same Somerset Cricket Club venue.
The East Enders won by one wicket with just three balls to spare.
At the same ground Western Stars and Willow Cuts needed a bowl-off to settle their match (see below).
Ricky Hoyte scored 78 for Somerset, hitting seven fours and two sixes while Azeem Pitcher (37) and Marcus Johnson (32) helped with the scoring.
Ryan Steede took two wickets with Oronde Bascome, Rudell Pitcher and Gregg Foggo all earning a scalp.
In reply, a seventh-wicket partnership of 72 between Richard Todd (37) and Ryan Steede (39) secured the win. Damon Walker was unbeaten at the crease on 21.
Kamaul Easton took three wickets in a losing cause.
Bailey's Bay 224/6
Commercial League XI 103
Glenn Blakeney blasted a century and opening bowler Burton Outerbridge claimed four wickets as Bailey's Bay crushed the Commercial League XI by 121 runs at Sea Breeze Oval yesterday.
Opener Blakeney's 59-ball 103 included six sixes and ten fours before he was bowled in the final over by skipper Allen Walker (one for 37).
Blakeney added 108 for the second wicket with David Lovell whose 53 from 29 balls included three sixes and seven fours before the partnership was broken by slow bowler Dion Ball, Jr., who finished with three for 48. Marvin Trott made 24.
Needing more than 11 runs an over, the Commercial League started brightly but wickets tumbled as Outerbridge claimed four for 21 from four overs – including a sharp, head-high return catch from Craig Smith – and Corey Hill two for 24, the newcomers subsiding to 103 all out in 15.3 overs.
Walker top scored with 23 not out after Barry Richards made a quickfire 19.
Devonshire Rec. 158-5
Leg Trappers 79
Fine batting by Sean Perinchief and Steven Bremar helped Devonshire Rec. to a comfortable 79-run victory over 10-man Leg Trappers at Wellington Oval.
The Devonshire duo each struck 45 runs while veteran Herbie Bascome hit 20 and skipper Derrick Brangman 12 not out to steer their team to a winning score. Perinchief and Bremar came to their team's rescue after they lost their first wicket with just five runs scored, adding 102 for the second wicket.
Johan Oosthuizon was the top bowler for Trappers with two wickets for 16 off four overs.
Trappers were dismissed in 17.3 overs with Dennis Williams claiming three wickets for 19 off four overs while Kameron Fox took two for nine off three overs with a maiden and Derrick Brangman two for 15 off four overs.
Andre Smit led Trappers the scorers with 17 while Dunferd Davis was not out on 14.
The second game between Social Club and the Under-19s saw the latter fail to field a team.
Western Stars 120
Willow Cuts 120/8
Willow Cuts hung on to win a nailbiter over Western Stars in this season's first bowl-off at Somerset Cricket Club.
Kevin Hurdle scored 59 for Western Stars as they were bowled out for 120, with youngster Antonio Darrell claiming three wickets for Cuts.
In reply Willow Cut scored 120 for eight in their allotted overs, Chris Douglas top scoring with 31 while Seth Campbell took three wickets for Stars.
With the scores level Willow Cuts batted first in the one over bowl-off and made 17 with skipper Justin Robinson bowling for the Stars.
Ryan Shephard (10) and Bergon Spencer (7) batted for Cuts.
Deunte Darrell then completed the victory when two wickets fell in his over, with Stars only managing to score three runs.
Cleveland 180-6
PHC 130
Shaki Darrell proved useful with bat and ball as Cleveland beat PHC by 50 runs at Southampton Oval.
Darrell scored 29 to assist Aaron Adams in the scoring department, with Adams hitting a good 65.
Dennis Musson jr. chipped in with 20, while David Adams took two wickets for PHC.
In reply, only Dean Richards put up any real resistance at the crease, scoring 41 as his side were bowled out for 130.
Shoron Hunt added 14 while Darrell snatched four wickets to spearhead the attack.
Musson jr. and Peter Philpot both took two wickets.
Warwick Workmen's Club 63
St. David's 65/2
St. David's made light work of Warwick, winning by eight wickets at Sea Breeze Oval.
Batting first, Andre Burgess scored 22 runs for Warwick as the side were bowled out for 63. Del Hollis led the attack with three wickets.
In reply, Justin Pitcher scored 29 as the defending champions reached their target in under eight overs.
Daniel Morgan took one wicket for Warwick in a losing effort.

Willow Cuts 169/8
Shea Pitcher Jr crashed 130 as St. David's beat Willow Cuts by 51 runs.
Pitcher guided the side to a massive score of 220 in their allotted overs, with George O'Brien jr. taking three wickets.
In reply, Bergon Spencer scored 52 as Cuts were bowled out for 169.
OJ Pitcher took two wickets for the winners.
St. George's 188/6
Leg Trappers 144
St. George's cruised to a 44-run win over Leg Trappers at Wellington Oval.
Oronde Bascome top scored for the East Enders with 39, while Misheal Paynter added 37.
Damian Horan was the pick of the Leg Trappers bowling, taking four wickets.
In reply, Trappers were bowled all out for 144, with Jordache Rawson scoring 50.
Ryan Steede and Patrick Stamp both took three wickets.
PHC 207/5
Somerset Bridge 103
Dean Stephens scored 63 as PHC blasted Somerset Bridge by 104 runs.
Skipper Kyle Lightbourne hit 44 as PHC put on a formidable 207.
Donnie Charles took two wickets for Bridge.
In reply, Charles hit 44, but Bridge didn't have anyone help him with chasing down the huge target.
Kamua Leverock claimed three wickets for the win.
The day's remaining matches never got underway with rain affecting wickets.
