Dean Stephens smashed an unbeaten century (104) to lead PHC to the finish line, keeping alive his club's hopes of advancing to the next round of the Twenty20 competition.

His superb innings guided PHC to a seven-wicket win.

Batting first, Flatts posted 143 for nine thanks in large to Regino Smith who scored 68, while skipper Kijuan Franks added 17.

PHC bowlers Cal Waldron and Kyle Lightbourne rach took three wickets.

Then Stephens stole the show.

St. George's Cricket Club 201-8

Devonshire Recreation Club 131

St. George's continued their unbeaten streak in this year's tournament with a comfortable 70-run victory.

James Celestine hit 84 as the hosts scored 201-8 in their allotted overs.

Derrick Brangman took two wickets for the visitors.

In reply, Ricardo Brangman sr. contributed 46 but didn't get much run support as Devonshire Rec. well fell short of the required target.

Patrick Stamp took four wickets for the winners.

Young Men's Social Club 53

Western Stars 58-1

Western Stars made quick work of Young Men's Social Club at St. John's Field, crushing the visitors by nine wickets.

Nakia Smith top scored with 16 for Social Club as the side were bowled out for a meagre 53. Rohaan Davis took four wickets for Stars.

In reply, Anthony Bascome scored 35 as Stars crossed the score in quick fashion. Jaymo Durham took one wicket for Social Club.

Commercial League XI 142-9

Willow Cuts 143-4

Despite losing Cup Match MVP Deunte Darrell cheaply, nine-man Willow Cuts eased to victory with seven balls to spare and four wickets in hand against the Commercial League XI at St. John's Field thanks to a knock of 65 by opener Romar Simmons.

Skipper Dave Greenidge top scored with 44 and fellow opener Kavi Selvarajah made 17 for the tournament newcomers, who were well placed at 76 for one at the half-way point, but the innings lost momentum once Greenidge departed and Barry Richards was run out for nought without facing a ball, attempting a second run with Allen Walker (18).

Trevor Haynes, who later took two for 28 from 3.5 overs, weighed in with 26 to give the innings a late boost, Rodney Fubler taking three for 14 from two overs and Rawn Warner two for 10 from two.

Simmons struck four sixes and five fours in his half-century while fellow opener Ryan Sheppard made 32 – including a six off the first ball of the innings from Kevin Abrahams. Although Darrell fell for seven – caught at deep mid-wicket by Selvarajah off the bowling of Ian Coke – Dexter Basden hit 25 to ensure victory for Cuts and a third straight defeat for the Commercial team.

Cleveland County 208-5

Somerset Bridge 132

Aaron Adams (52) and Lavar Talbot (52) cracked half centuries to lead Cleveland County to this 76-run win over Somerset Bridge.

Batting first, Cleveland, guided by the pair of Adams and Talbot, posted 208-5, with Donnie Charles taking two wickets for Bridge.

In reply Shawn Riley scored 21 as Bridge were bowled all out for 132. Shakai Darrell led the Cleveland County attack, taking four wickets to spearhead the bowling.

Somerset 168

Bailey's Bay 264-7

Warwick 114-7

Glenn Blakeney thumped a fierce 89 and opening partner Deverae Hollis chipped in with 42 to help Bailey's Bay brush off visitors Warwick by 150 runs at Sea Breeze Oval.

Bay's openers put on 84 runs to get them off to a robust start and it was their dominance that took them straight through to the end. Also among the runs were Jameiko Marshall with 27 and Callab Jean Pierre on 16.

Daniel Morgan was the best bowler for Warwick with three wickets for 35 runs off three overs while Dejon Richardson claimed two for 66.

Morgan also spearheaded Warwick's batting with a brisk 50 but with few of his team-mates offering any resistance, Warwick never looked capable of reaching the target. Richardson was the second top bat on 12.

Burton Trott led Bay bowlers with two wickets for six while Kevon Richardson claimed two for 25.

n The scheduled second game between St. David's and the Under-19s saw the East Enders win by forfeit after the teenage team were unable to field a team.

SATURDAY'S MATCHES

Under-19s 134-6

Commercial League XI 99-9

Superb catching by the Under-19s dashed the Commercial League XI's hopes of an upset victory at Southampton Oval on Saturday.

Eighteen-year-old Brian Hall, who struck an unbeaten 75 in Western Stars' 102-run win over the Commercial League the previous week, topscored with 43 and all-rounder Kamau Leverock made 28 but the Commercial League fought back well after medium pacer Craig Smith's opening over of the match went for 21.

Smith conceded only seven runs in his next three overs, finishing with two for 28, while 53-year-old Michael Campbell followed up his brace against Stars by taking two for 23 from four.

Yatin Gawas top scored with 19 for the Commercial League whose batsmen mostly fell to a series of fine catches, including one taken at shoulder height by Tre Manders on the wide long-on boundary from a well-struck drive to remove Smith, league champions Spring Garden Cavaliers' leading all-rounder, for six.

Leverock (three for 10), Damali Bell (three for 12) and Lateef Trott (three for 20) did the damage for the Under-19s.

Willow Cuts 174-7

Bailey's Bay 168-4

Willow Cuts held their nerve to win by six runs over Bay at Sea Breeze Oval.

Dexter Basden dispatched bowlers to all areas of the pitch in his knock of 72 as Cuts scored 174-7 in their 20 overs.

Terryn Fray took three wickets for Bay.

In reply Marvin Trott scored 68 as Bay fell just short of their target finishing on 168-4. Malachi Jones took two wickets.

Somerset Bridge 40

Devonshire Recreation Club 41-1

Devonshire Rec. made light work of Somerset Bridge at Devonshire Rec., winning by nine wickets.

Bridge were bowled all out for a paltry 40, with Derek Hill scoring 13. Derrick Brangman did the damage for Rec with five wickets.

Ryan Swan scored 20 not out as Devonshire crossed the score, losing only one wicket – Donnie Charles.

St. David's Cricket Club 224-6

Western Stars 140

Lionel Cann blasted 97 as St. David's Cricket Club beat Western Stars by 84 runs at Southampton Oval.

Cann helped his side amass 224-6 in their allotted 20 overs, while Justin Robinson took two wickets for Stars. In reply McClaren Lowe scored 69 but Stars fell well short of their target.

OJ Pitcher took four wickets for the winners.

PHC 124

St. George's Cricket Club 125-5

St. George's beat PHC by five wickets at Wellington Oval.

Fiqre Crockwell was the top scorer with 27, while Jason Anderson chipped in with 25 as PHC were bowled out for 124.

Oronde Bascome took four wickets for the hosts.

In reply, Bascome scored 28 as St. George's Cricket Club crossed the line with five wickets remaing.

James Celestine added 27 while Dean Stephens grabbed two wickets for PHC.
