Teenage Bermuda Optimist sailors Sam Stan (pictured above) and Hannah Horsfield will both set sail in the German National Championships next week.

National champion Stan, 14, finished 14 out of 196 competitors at the North American Championships (NAC) in Ontario, Canada, while 13-year-old Horsfield came 176th.

More than 200 sailors will be taking part in the German nationals from countries such as Brazil, Hong Kong, Japan, Sweden, France and Lithuania.

Stan and Horsfield have both been working with world-renowned Opti coach Ziz Staniul from Poland, who has been running clinics in Bermuda for a number of years. The championships run from Monday, July 26 until Friday, July 30.
