An angry Zoran Vranes has criticised his team's commitment ahead of their tour of Bermuda after a number of players failed to turn up for training.

Serbian Vranes invited 33 players to two training sessions last week but on both occasions many of the squad were absent, leaving the former Trinidad senior national team coach fuming.

"I'm not at all happy with the turn-out," said Vranes. "If this is what they are doing with a chance to represent their country, what will happen when they get older?"

Vranes said he understood some squad members had club commitments in the Digicel Pro Bowl and FA matches, but pointed out that other players also involved in those competitions had still attended training.

"I know its been a long season and they may be tired somewhat, but at the same time some of the other players from the same clubs are showing up for the practice sessions," he said.

Last Tuesday's session, Secondary Schools Football League's trio, Shahdon Winchester and Ryan Frederick, of Naparima, and El Dorado East Secondary's Daniel Cyrus who played in the Coca-Cola Inter-Col on the same day were all excused by Vranes while six other players failed to show.

While the attendance improved last Thursday, there were still too many absentees for Vranes' liking.

Vranes led the Trinidad to the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Egypt in September where they earned their first ever point in FIFA competition after drawing against Paraguay. The majority of his Under-23 Olympic team is made up of the players he worked with at Under-20 level.

The Soca Warriors take on Scott Morton's Bermuda Under-23s on Monday, December 28 and on New Year's Day for the inaugural BFA International Cup. They also face Devonshire Cougars on Wednesday, December 30. The venues for the incoming tour have yet to be announced.
