Under-19s on verge of finals
Bermuda Under-19s are one win away from reaching the final of the Caribbean Championships.
A last-gasp 12-10 win over hosts Bahamas on Monday means that if they beat top-seeds, and reigning champions, Cayman Islands today they will face Trinidad and Tobago in Saturday's final.
And with Cayman having already lost 26-6 to the hosts in the opening game of the tournament, Bermuda will fancy their chances. Bahamas meanwhile need Bermuda to lose, with the home side likely to progress courtesy of a better points difference in that case.
James Adderley's side though have made a habit of upsetting their hosts so far this week, with a try from the last move of Monday's game robbing Bahamas of what had seemed a certain victory.
After struggling with their discipline in the first half, Bermuda found themselves seven-nil down at half-time, but struck back through Dylan O'Kelly Lynch soon after the break to draw level.
Bahamas moved ahead again when Bermuda's indiscipline saw them concede another penalty, and with the seconds ticking away the hosts clung on grimly to their 10-7 lead.
However, Bermuda rallied, and got a penalty of their own with seconds remaining, a set move sent Rory O'Kelly Lynch over the try line, and the conversion sparked wild celebrations among Bermuda's players and small band of supporters.
