A goal in each half by dreadlocked right-winger Tahj Wade gave Trojans maximum points and their first victory of the season in this dull Premier Division game at Police field.

Wade saved Somerset from what was turning out to be a frustrating day in a contest that neither team looked capable of winning for much of the time.

He put his side ahead after 24 minutes and then virtually put the result out of reach of the jaded Colts after 80 minutes with his second strike.

Even though the West Enders emerged deserving winners, both coaches Dennis Brown of Somerset and Colts' Keishon Smith have to be worried by their team's performance.

Chances and shots on goal were few and far in between with Colts' attack not finding the target until injury time when defender Eurique Wilkin moved into a goal-scoring position and placed his shot inches of the far post from 14 yards.

What made Colts' day even more incredibly agonising for coach Smith was that his team were never once able to take advantage after Somerset were forced to play with 10 men once centre-back Daren Minors was sent off by referee Anthony Francis for a second bookable offence when he fouled midfielder Marco Piper.

Until Colts woke up from the dead in terms of finding finishing ideas, Somerset held a slight advantage though their play was nothing to rave about.

Wade gave Somerset the lead when he combined with midfielder Marcellos Thomas to score from an angle on the right, the ball deflected in goal off a defender.

Wade eased the pressure for them with his second goal after 80 minutes, scoring from 20 yards to tear the heart out of the home side.

Somerset had a great opportunity to go 3-0 up after 83 minutes but Sean Simmons watched in agony as his blast from 16 yards was slapped away by Jason Wade in the Colts' goal. Colts responded with two chances from Wilkin but by that time Somerset had it all wrapped up.
