Wade: I'll be back

Despite last night's setback, Mark Wade gave a clear indication that he will be running for the presidency of the Bermuda Football Association (BFA) in the 2012 election.

Wade comfortably lost to Larry Mussenden by a 13-7 vote count, yet refused to rule himself out of running for the hot seat in two years time.

"It is my anticipation to run in the next election, it is not me to do something short term", said Wade.

"I have been employed at the same company for 17 years, and I've been at PHC for 30.

"I'm not flighty so my intention is to stay as long as I can."

And despite losing to Mussenden, who will now serve his eighth and ninth year in charge of the local governing body, Wade will still be involved in the running of the game after he was elected to an executive position along with running mates, Steven Coddington, Shannon Burgess, Tony Hunter, and Troy Brimmer.

"On the campaign trail I was confident on getting a good team together, and I'm happy to see certain members of my team join.

"I'm disappointed for not being voted in as president but it is good for football, and it was important for football and also the country for me to show a unified front and show the country what can happen when people join together and unify for the betterment of one cause.

"For us the cause is football."
