Even with this sub-standard performance PHC managed to keep pace with the Premier Division leaders at Wellington Oval yesterday.

PHC were stunned last week when they lost 1-0 to Southampton Rangers and during this contest it took two late goals before they managed to brush aside lowly Parish.

The goals came from substitute Kenny Mills after 80 minutes and Cecoy Robinson two minutes later. But Parish always looked capable of earning at least a share of the points until those goals came.

However, they were let down time and time again by forwards Jamie Smith and Angelo Cannonier who were either caught offside or proved to be inept when it came to placing a shot on target.

Cannonier fired two shots over when in goalscoring positions in the second half.

With both teams looking sluggish, the first half was uneventful although Chris Furbert and Quinton Burgess placed shots wide and over the bar within six minutes of the start.

Zebras finally found the mark when Robinson forced Nigel Burgess in the Parish goal to make a sensational save but the PHC player was in position to steer home the rebound.

Ten minutes later and just before the break, PHC were awarded a penalty after a foul by defender Romone Smith but Furbert's spot kick was saved by the alert Burgess.

With Parish showing few signs of the form that carried them to a surprise victory over Somerset Trojans in their last league encounter and PHC playing like a team languishing in the middle of the table play continue to be lacklustre in the second half with the defences dominating.

Parish missed two chances to equalise within ten minutes but Cannonier fired over from 16 yards and Smith mistimed a free kick from Rodney Trott when he should have scored from just eight yards out. Shea Smith and Robinson went close for PHC at the opposite end.

PHC held their own for the rest of the game and put the result out of reach when substitute Mills and Robinson scored late on.
