Mayho dominates in mountain bike race series

Dominic Mayho took the honours in the first mountain bike race of The Latter Rain Service Race Series at the Arboretum at the weekend.A record number of 48 cyclist showed up to participate in the first of seven points series races.In the men’s A class, Mayho dominated the day and came first followed by newcomer Greg Reid in second place and third place Mark Hatherly.In the men’s B, Kent Richardson, a masters athlete, surprised all by leading the class, followed by junior rider Nathaniel Hartwig and Padraig Browne, who came third.In the men’s novice category, Barry Brewer led the division followed by Erik Hetzel and third place Philando Hill.The women’s class was led by Sarah Bonnet followed by Karen Smith in second place and third place Shara Cronden.Daniel Hetzel led the competitors in the male junior division, followed by second place Robin Horsfield and third place Andre Campbell.In the female junior division, Sarah Jordon led the ladies with Jessica Godfrey coming runner-up.In the male junior division, Alex Bordage led the field with Alex Aroujo in second and Isaiah Rickards in third.Racing continues this weekend at Ferry Reach at 8.45am.
