Corrado sends early season warning

Stephen Corrado laid down a marker during the opening round of the 2013 karting season.The top driver blew away the competition en route to capturing four wins in two separate classes at Southside Raceway at the weekend to let his intentions be known.He posted two wins each in of the 125cc shifter and 125cc TAG Sr classes to start the new season off with a bang.He also finished second behind winner David Barbosa in the first heat of the 125cc TAG Sr class.Corrado leads the TAG Sr championship points standings by six points over nearest rival Barbosa and is joint leader along with Kevin Daley in the 125cc Shifter points standings.Daley denied Corrado a clean sweep in the 125cc Shifter class after taking the chequered flag in the third and final heat.Xavier Smith was the only other driver with multiple wins on the day.He won two of the three heats in the Modified Junior Clone Class which enabled him to carve out a six-point lead at the top of the standings after the opening race of the five-race Trophy Series Championship.Zanardi Daley won the second heat in the Modified Junior Clone Class to deny Smith a hat-trick of wins.Barbosa, Scott Barnes, Zanardi Daley, Ryan Burgess, Jason Smith and Michael Fontenetta all managed multiple podium displays.
