Levinc Samuels achieved a rare feat at Warwick Lanes last month.

The 28-year-old bowler rolled a perfect game twice inside of a week.

Samuels rolled the perfect game during the Rendzevous Tournament and repeated the extraordinary feat seven days later during the Saturday Night Bowling League. His perfect game during the Rendezvous Tournament could not have come at a better time.

“I needed a perfect game to make the top five Roll Off, and I came through at a clutch moment,” Samuels said. “The first perfect game was amazing because it came at the right time.”

Lightening struck seven days later as Samuels once again reached dizzying heights with another flawless game.

“The second one was just as good,” he said. “It was in regular league, but it was a very important night the same way. Once I was on my way to the second one it felt like I’ve been here before, I just wanted to get this out of the way too.

“Sometimes it takes a little bit of luck, and I guess I can say it was my week. It was definitely a good week for me, and a very exciting feeling to get two perfect games in one week, which has made my year so far.

“I rolled a perfect game in an official tournament and practice before, probably about three years ago. But recently I hadn’t had any, and so I guess I was kind of overdue for another one.”

The month of February was an exceptional one for the fourth generation bowler, who has represented Bermuda both at junior and senior levels.

As well as rolling two perfect games, Samuels, who hopes to play professionally one day, earned more than $2,000 in cash and prizes after winning the doubles title and Roll Off during the Rendevous Tournament.

“With my 300 I made it to third place in the Roll Off and then in the top five Roll Off I won three matches in a row and climbed up the ladder in first place and won the tournament,” Samuels said.

“The Rendevous Tournament has different categories and I actually cashed in all of the categories and for winning the Roll Off I won a watch and cash prizes too, and so it was a good weekend for me.”

Samuels refuses to take all of the credit for his recent successes at Warwick Lanes.

“I have to thank my coach Antione Jones and the bowling federation because they support us a lot,” he said. “We would not have the exposure or the talent today without these people.”

Samuels is among a quartet of bowlers to have rolled perfect games at Warwick Lanes in the past several weeks as Jerome Knight, Anthony Smith and David Maycock also achieved the feat, playing in the various domestic leagues.
