More people say they are unlikely to vote in election

Bermuda’s number of possible non-voters has shot up in the past three months, according to a new poll.Just 64 percent of registered voters said they would be likely to vote in a general election in the survey by Mindmaps, down from 95 percent in the previous poll in October 2010.In each of Mindmaps’ surveys over the past two years, at least 88 percent of people have said they would be likely to vote.Mindmaps director of research Leslie Steede said it was unlikely the score of 64 percent was an anomaly as all other results in this week’s poll have been consistent. However, Walton Brown president of Research Innovations, said his company’s poll this month found 89 percent of people were likely to vote.
