Glenn Blakeney, JP, MP

Glenn Blakeney is the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Constituency 13, having been elected in 2003. He is a partner and founding member of Inter-Island Communications Limited, where he is President and Managing Director overseeing the day to day operations of their subsidiary radio stations HOTT 1075 FM and MAGIC 102.7 FM.

Glenn previously served on the Government's Public Accounts Committee and the Works & Engineering Purchasing and Tendering Committee and is currently Chairman of the Ports Authority Committee. He also served as the PLP Public Relations Coordinator and Party representative between 2001 and 2003.

Glenn has the distinction of having captained the Berkeley Institute soccer and cricket teams and also served as a junior coach and former manager of the Devonshire Colts senior football teams. Glenn's company has donated over sixty thousand dollars to various charities and worthy causes through the HOTT 107.5 Community Charity Foundation.

Glenn has worked tirelessly to effect timely resolutions to his constituency concerns. He was successful in efforts to have roads resurfaced in the Cedar Park area and was also instrumental in having street lights erected in his neighboring constituencies. Glenn is supportive of PLP government funded initiatives such as the hugely successful CAP program, which is designed to improve neighborhood environments. He is currently working with a private firm and the Bermuda Housing Corporation to implement CCTV security surveillance as a crime prevention measure, a proposal that is expected to be completed shortly.

Glenn is married to the former Gwen Joell and is the proud father of daughters Glennea and Tamaree, and sons Jahmel, Zeik and Glenn Jr.
