Mr. Lowe has served as MP for Southampton East continuously for over 30 years. Well regarded for his influence, knowledge of Parliamentary rules and procedure and disposition for fairness, he was elected Speaker of the House in 1998. Through his tireless advocacy for the needs of all Bermudians, Mr. Lowe has the reputation of being the "People's MP."
