Keith Young was born May 14, 1958, the second oldest son of Keith and Gwen Young and one of six children. Keith spent his early years living in Devonshire until moving to Radnor Road as a teenager. He began his education at Elliot School, later attending Robert Crawford High School and the Bermuda College.

Keith's connections to Pembroke East Central are long established, going back several generations with the family homestead being located within the constituency, on Friswell's Hill. Keith is a parishioner of the St. Paul's AME Church and has become known throughout the community for taking in young people who have found themselves in need of guidance and a helping hand.

While Pembroke East Central has traditionally been a PLP stronghold, Keith has been encouraged by the many people who believe that the community needs a new voice and new leadership that is accountable to the people. Having lived on Friswell's Hill for eleven years, Keith believes that he can make a difference in this community and give the people the voice that they have been seeking.

Having overcome a life threatening illness in 2003, Keith has been given a renewed commitment to his faith, his family and his community. That sense of renewal has inspired him to seek to serve his community in a wider role. His main priority is to provide guidance and create a wider range of opportunities for our young people.

Keith has been married to Roxanne Young (nee Lightbourne) for 15 years and they have two children Shaquille and Shequilla. Keith is also the father of Deeon (29), Shannette (27), both from a previous marriage and Jae'tremae (17). Keith also has six adorable grandchildren, whom he dotes on.
