Mrs. Jackson has taught thousands of Bermudian children as a teacher of Physical Education and Health at the Berkeley Institute, Prospect Primary and Sandys Secondary.

She founded the Jackson School of the Performing Arts in 1954 and introduced a love for dance, music, drama and gymnastics to thousands of children and adults.

Mrs. Jackson chaired the Broadcast Commission, Library Committee, The Bermuda National Gallery, and served on the Arts Council as deputy Chairman.

Community service is a passion for Mrs. Jackson as she has served as a member of Hamilton Rotary, Bermuda Festival Committee, the New Theatre Committee, the Foundation for the Arts, Bermuda High School trustee, Bermuda Business and Professional Women, the Kardias Club, the Women's Auxiliary of KEMH and was a co-founder of the National Dance Theater of Bermuda. She is also a former director of the Bank of Bermuda.

Mrs. Jackson has studied the Bermuda Gombey for over 50 years and has written two books, "Bermuda Gombey Boy" and "Bermuda Gombey."

Mrs. Jackson is presently the Shadow Minister of Health and Seniors. She was formerly Shadow Minister of Cultural Affairs and Seniors.

Did you know...

Mrs. Jackson taught 14 members of the present House of Assembly and Senate at the Berkeley Institute.

A Plan for Pembroke South West

* Prohibiting large container trucks and oversized vehicles from using Rosemont Ave., Pitt's Bay Rd. and Serpentine Rd.

* Installing traffic controls at the junction of Fairylands Rd., Pitt's Bay Rd. and Serpentine Rd.

* Monitoring the smoke and soot released by BELCO's smoke stacks.

* Correcting the flooding of the canal which put many businesses out of business at Mill's Creek Lane.

* Controlling illegal parking on Pitt's Bay Rd. to the west of Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel.

* Erecting a stop sign at junction of Rosemont Ave and Richmond Rd.
