Dunkley is the most highly rated politician in survey
Senator Michael Dunkley’s favourability ratings tops that of several leading politicians, according to the latest survey conducted this month.Forty one percent of registered voters reported that they had a favourable impression of the One Bermuda Alliance Deputy Leader. The survey, conducted by MindMaps for The Royal Gazette, asked registered voters to rank their impression of the favourability of each politician using a 1 5 scale.Premier Paula Cox came in second in the rankings with 34 percent of voters saying they had a favourable impression of her, with 36 percent saying they had an unfavourable impression of her. That’s a slight, but statistically insignificant, drop for the Premier who scored a 37 percent favourability ranking in September. Twenty six percent said they approved of her performance, while 43 percent disapproved of her performance.OBA Leader Craig Cannonier scored the biggest gain in favourability with 33 percent of voters saying they had a favourable impression of him, compared to 26 percent in September, 15 percent in July and 13 percent in April this year.Deputy Premier Derrick Burgess scored a 22 percent favourability, while 18 percent of voters had a favourable impression of Kim Swan who was elected as a United Bermuda Party MP.Black voters were more likely to have a favourable impression of the Premier and Deputy Premier. But in the case of the OBA Leader and Deputy, whites were more likely to find them favourable.Impressions of the Premier’s performance also broke down racially with black voters more likely to approve of her performance and whites more likely to disapprove.
