Small increases in some licencing fees passes House

MPs yesterday agreed to a minor increase in fees for certain kinds of driving licences.Premier and Finance Minister Paula Cox described the Government Fees Amendment (No 2) Regulations 2012 as “almost like an elephant giving birth to a flea” as the changes are so small.The regulations increase the fee for issuing or renewing an auxiliary bicycle driver’s licence and a ten-year car driver’s licence from $105.84 to $106.80.The fee for examining a driving instructor goes up from $105.84 to $106 and for issuing or renewing a driving instructor licence from $106 to $106.80.
