Advance poll to be held in Smith’s South by-election

Smith’s South residents unable to get to the polling station for next month’s by-election in the constituency will still have an opportunity to cast their vote.

Under parliamentary regulations, infirm, disabled or immobile residents can vote in their own homes as long as they are listed on the parliamentary register and have a doctor’s certificate.

The advance poll will take place next Tuesday and Wednesday, one week before polling day on October 5. The by-election was called after the resignation of constituency MP and One Bermuda Alliance leader Cole Simons last month.

Voters wishing to take part in the election from their own homes should contact the Parliamentary Registrar's office on 293-8683 by tomorrow.

You must be Registered or to post comment or to vote.
