David Burt, the Premier, and Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, met with 16 emerging leaders from the Caribbean and Canada at the Cabinet Office today.

A government spokesman said the meeting was part of the Caribbean and Canada Leaders Dialogue, which aims to strengthen partnerships in the region.

Mr Hayward, who previously took part in the programme, called CCL’s Bermuda tour, which centred on advocacy and policy reform, “a pivotal gathering dedicated to exploring impact-driven change in our community”.

Mr Hayward added: “As an alumnus, we carry a special responsibility and opportunity to amplify our impact — this event offers a valuable platform to exchange ideas.”

Tammy Augustus-Richardson, the country tour leader for Bermuda, who co-ordinated the visit along with Ed Ball, explained: “We trust the delegates will depart with a deep sense of engagement, having experienced a tour curated to blend seamless logistics with intellectual depth.

“With deliberate care, we endeavoured to weave together compelling narratives and immersive learning, creating an experience that will linger in memory long after the journey to Bermuda concludes.”

Nahjae Nunes, a CCL fellow, doctoral candidate in international relations at Oxford University and a senior fellow at Unicef, said: “There was no better way to wrap up our tour than here at the Cabinet Office.”
