East End tourism investment order on bill for House

Ministerial statements on topics such as young people acting against violence and the risks associated with products that contain nicotine are scheduled to be delivered in the House of Assembly today.

Legislators are also expected to consider the Tourism Investment (Clearwater Community Event Venue) Order, which would grant permission to operate a business at Clearwater Beach in St David’s.

David Burt, the Premier and Minister of Finance, is to speak on credit ratings for Bermuda.

Also listed is Truth Be Told: Youth Rise Against the Violence — A Movement Begins, a ministerial statement to be delivered by Michael Weeks, the Minister of National Security.

The Building Amendment Act 2025 is expected to be laid by Diallo Rabain, the Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, with a statement to the House to follow.

Kim Wilson, the health minister, will speak on the public health risk of nicotine products and legislative reforms, an order paper showed.

Tinée Furbert, the Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, will update MPs on a job readiness programme.

The Government’s Cost of Living Summit will also be in the spotlight, with a statement from Alexa Lightbourne, the home affairs minister.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, will speak about investment in sports and athletes as well as The Loren resort’s expansion of the island’s tourism offerings.
